I’ve been using the Fuji X100VI for about three months now, mostly on weekends for family outings.

First off, image quality of this camera is fantastic, the colours and even the black and white. The film simulations really shine, especially for family photos. Skin tones look natural, highlights are gentle, and the photos come out looking finished straight out of camera, I didn’t take pictures in RAW for a while, limited to none editing, which is a big win when you’re shooting casually, just for fun, and don’t want extra work later.

Now, about portability, which was for me the primary reason to get this camera. While the X100VI is compact, it’s definitely not a pocketable camera in the way something like the Ricoh GR is. For travel or weekend trips, you’ll still need a small bag or sling to carry it comfortably. It’s not something you can just slip into a jacket pocket and forget about, and that does affect how often you bring it along.

Ergonomics are another mixed point. The camera is beautiful, no question about it, but it doesn’t feel as firm in the hand as a DSLR, nor as effortless to handle as a Ricoh GR. It’s fine for casual shooting, but during longer sessions you do notice the smaller grip and button layout.

Overall, I like this camera. The design is stunning and it feels special to use. It may not be the most practical camera in every situation, but for daily use, family or walking around the city, it’s a great one to own.
